1989 Ford Mustang SALEEN SSC

1989 FORD MUSTANG – SALEEN SSC
While Ford decided not to commemorate the Mustang’s 25th anniversary with a special commemorative edition. But Steve Saleen did. Former racer Saleen, who owned a collection of Shelby Mustangs, wanted to do a series of high-performance Mustangs, similar to what Carroll Shelby did. The first series of Saleen Mustangs ran from 1987 through 1993, in which he concentrated on chassis upgrades, to avoid the costly certification process if we would have tampered with the engines.

1989 SALEEN INTERIOR
Added to the premium Mustang GT interior were Saleen-specific leather-wrapped sport seats with adjustable-everything (mostly manual), and matching leather door panels with color-keyed inserts. All were gray leather premium interiors with black carpeting. The front seats were done in a 2-tone effect with the top section being a lighter gray than the bottom section, separated by a horizontal band of piping that was color-keyed to the exterior color scheme, in this case, yellow. Saleens don’t come with back seats. But they do have a nice-fitting roll cage.
