Ford Thunderbird

Ford Thunderbird

1955 THUNDERBIRD
The introductory year of the original ‘personal luxury car’. The 2-seat “Baby Bird” was an instant hit.

1956 THUNDERBIRD
2nd year for Ford’s sexy 2-seater, much improved over the ’55, yet largely carried-over.

1957 THUNDERBIRD
Last year for the 2-seat ‘Baby Bird’. Stretched in back to accommodate the spare tire (now in the trunk).

1959 THUNDERBIRD
2nd year of the 2nd-gen “Square Bird”.

1960 THUNDERBIRD
Last year for the big “Square Bird”.

1961 THUNDERBIRD
First year for the 3rd-gen “Arrow Bird”.

1963 THUNDERBIRD

1964 THUNDERBIRD

1965 THUNDERBIRD

1966 THUNDERBIRD SPORT ROADSTER
The 2-door Sports Roadster started with a Thunderbird convertible, then added a fiberglass fairing over the back seating area. Cool look, rare car.

1976 THUNDERBIRD
The big 6th-gen ‘Bird is in its final year, also the last year for the 460 V8.

2002 THUNDERBIRD
The T-Bird is back! The first year of a 4-year run (2002-2005). Gorgeous car, 3.8L V8 was not fast & it didn’t sell well, so it was cut.

2004 THUNDERBIRD
The 11th-generation of T-Birds turns out to be a slow-seller after a few years. No high performance option certainly hurt. It was meant to be a cruiser, just like the original. They’re still gorgeous & well-executed. And cheap right now.
