2008 CHEVROLET CORVETTE BACKGROUND
The C6 (6th-generation Corvette debuted in 2005 as a coupe and convertible, and in 2006 the launched the Z06. So, for 2007 and 2008, things were left more or less alone. Chevy had done so much heavy lifting in the creation of the new C6, loaded with power, technology and convenience like never before, that there was little else to add to the 2007 or 2008 Chevrolet Corvette that wasn’t already there. Of course, the big news for 2008 was the new engine, now enlarged from 6.0 to 6.2 liters and now making 430 horsepower (up from 400) or 436 with the optional two-mode exhaust. Handling was improved via a new power steering rack with bearings instead of bushings and built to tighter manufacturing tolerances. Overall, the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette was judged by many automotive journalists at the time to be the best high-performance bargain on the market. It was then, and it remains so today.

A WORK IN PROGRESS
In our efforts to complete our online index, and make this the world’s greatest website about American Muscle Cars, we’re building pages as fast as we can. The first thing we add are the pictures. Then come the specs, and then the history. So, if you see a page that just has only pictures on it, please check back in a few weeks to see if we have it done. Thanks for your patience. And thanks for visiting /American-Muscle-Cars.net. Please tell your friends about us.
